I entered the world of Irish Water
Spaniels formally in 1992. I was not a newcomer to the world of dogs
or dog sports at this point in my life. I was already an obedience
enthusiast, and had enjoyed the company of Irish Water Spaniels and
their people within my obedience circles. I liked the way IWS
thought about what they were being asked to do, and the unique ideas
that they would present for improving upon the exercises! I was
interested in entering the conformation aspect of the sport as well.
I began to research the breed.
In the early part of 1992, I was introduced to
Susan Tapp of Castlehill Irish Water Spaniels. Little did either of
us know that this meeting would begin a mentor relationship and a
life-long friendship. My first dog, Ch. Castlehill’s Air Jordan
O’Landacre UD WC came from Sue in May, 1992. This dog provided me
with many experiences such as being my first champion, my first
group placer, my first field partner, and the foundation of my line.
He was recognized numerous times by the Irish Water Spaniel Club of
America and cemented my love for and dedication to the breed. |

I have had Irish Water Spaniels for 15
years. In that time, I have had two
litters. I breed only occasionally, in
order to keep a pup for myself. I have
been fortunate to make many new and
wonderful friends through the puppies.
All of the dogs who live here are raw
fed. It is of such supreme importance
to me that I require prospective owners
to continue this method of feeding. I
offer mentoring if you are new to raw
feeding and am happy to recommend a
number of invaluable resources to
help someone get started. If someone is
interested in Irish Water Spaniels but
feels that raw feeding is not for them,
I will happily refer to other IWS
breeders.
Our litter is on the way. Literally!
Keep posted on our
blog.

Currently, the residents here span the
ages. Rush was born 02.14.98,
Shenandoah on 07.24.02 and Rugby on
03.13.06.
They keep me hopping! We have more
family members who have crossed over
than currently live here. Please be
sure to visit the
Over The Rainbow page to meet our
foundation stock.

Check out our new video!
For me, it
isn't all about the competition. It's about the
time together. After Breezer passed, it took
those of us living here some time to adjust to
life without her. She was such a large presence
in our lives. We have spent the better part of
a year just getting to know each other all over
again. It seemed fitting to spend our fine
Spring Break weather doing just that--hanging
out at home and on our favorite trails in the
nearby park. I put these shots together to
celebrate not only the spring weather, but to
mark Rugby's second birthday. |
