The newest addition to our crew is Ch. WS N LA For The Love
Of The Game, better known as Rugby. Rugby was bred by Colleen McDaniel, Russel Nelson and Jackie Rollins of Whistlestop Kennels in Bothell,
Washington. His mother is Ch. Whistlestop’s Hidden Agenda and his father
is Multi-Ch. Fynder Freethinker. Rugby is Breeze’s grandnephew on one
side, and Shenandoah’s 2nd cousin on the other. He joined the
pack here in May, 2006.
Rugby had the distinction of being the
conformation dog to follow Jordan. He is not a disappointment. On his
first appearance, he was BOB over specials for a major. He completed his
championship with 5 majors in two weekends. Additionally, he was awarded
a puppy Group 3 at the Maryland Sporting Dog Shows in March, 2007. He
was also recognized at the 2007 specialty and Twin Cities Irish Water
Spaniel Club inaugural show by being the youngest champion to make the
judge’s cut. More than just a pretty face, Rugby is readying himself for
the field and other performance sports.
